Hello woofti!
I don't think we've talked before, but I've been reading your journal recently, so I thought I'd pop my head above the parapet.
Whereabouts in the Bible are you reading? Are you aiming to read through in a year?

Yes I'm reading through in a year. I'm using the BCP lectionary, which I've used before. It isn't ideal because it omits a few parts but I will read those as well. The lectionary goes through the NT twice so I thought after I've read it in Greek I'll read it in Delitzsch's 1877 Hebrew version, to brush up on a more recent form of the language, with an eye to developing a more active knowledge which I can use to speak.

The BCP lectionary has two readings, one from the OT and one from the NT, morning and evening. It works its way (more or less) through the OT once in the year and the NT twice. At the moment my morning passages are from Leviticus and Mark, and the evening ones from Leviticus and Romans. The lectionary omits the Psalms, 1&2 Chronicles, and the Song of Songs, so I'm reading those in addition to the regular portions. I've got up to Psalm 45 or thereabouts but have taken February off with the Psalm reading. I'll probably start again with a daily Psalm in March. The Psalms are poetry which can take a bit more work to understand, than the prose of the Pentateuch, which is grammatically and syntactically straightforward. The Song of Songs is written in difficult Hebrew but I've read it before and annotated the text with notes, so I'll use that text when I read it through again.
At the moment I am breezing through my daily portions but that's because the Hebrew is prose. Once I hit the poetry of the Prophets my daily reading is going to involve a bit more work.
