dagesh,
I just wanted to wish a pleasant journey to SA with plenty of leg room on the plane.
I hope that the job works out. Certainly sounds a worthwhile way to spend your time.
Post here and in ML as when you can. I want to hear lots about SA. Until you go I'm going to miss your daily journal entries. There's something very comforting about them .
Thanks for everything my friend and take care of yourself. I really will try to come and have that Meet under Table Mountain
Polly x
P.S. Have a few more pints of Landlord on me.
Bon voyage !

Hi there Polly
Thanks for your kind message. I'm going to try to get into town for another Nando's before Wednesday so may get some more ale in then. But you know, I was disappointed with the Landlord at Oxygen on the day of the meet. it really tasted quite ropey and I'm kind of leery of going in there and asking for it again.
Do you know, I'm only now recovering from the cider I had last night? I only had three or at most four pints. No wonder Eddie's lot were suffering the day after. It isn't a hangover, as such. It just feels like you're at several removes from reality for a while. No pain, just disorientation.
I will miss Big Brother. I will try to keep up with it online at the internet café in Stellenbosch, but it's not the same and I foresee myself losing interest. They're not a very interesting lot this year anyway.
Yes, we will definitely have to try to arrange a mustard meet on Table mountain. Did I ever tell you about the time on Jan 1st 1996 when I climbed up it in one and a half hours? I was scrambling up it like a mountain goat, it was fantastic. I was fit then. Not any longer though... I have decided to walk a couple of kilometres every day once I'm in Stellenbosch. I must try to get my waistline down, somehow. A brisk walk once a day in the mornings before the sun gets up, should do the trick. Not a quick fix, but after a year I expect to see some difference.
Cheers
Richard
