The workers are raising their voices to make themselves heard over the radio that I've got on, loudly, to drown out their commentary.

"The sound of the city"... are they sure they want to say that? The city is Babylon, they need to read their Bibles. Or perhaps it's a message - perhaps the preponderance of Satanists and demon-worshippers on air is the key to understanding that they really are the "voice of the City".

8.46 mb/s on the Entz machine, fantastic, that's so cool.
I am supposed to go round the house of the finest calligrapher in the country, this evening, to pick up some G-clamps. I'll take the music of the Movements for Solo Flute, for Lily, and the Study I've added a piano accompaniment to, for Isaac, as well. The flute music is "second-level" music, which may explain why Prob didn't understand it.
