Went to bed before midnight. I was rather tired. Woke up this morning at 8.30. Felt out of it. Got up, went to the computer, had a look at ML and emails, but felt too tired to make a cup of tea.

I was so tired I went back to bed (see Tea Addiction thread in the Bull).

After an hour or so in bed, Henry came. I felt dreadful and I had to do something because I was falling asleep with my friend here. So I had a pint of tea.

It worked immediately. Interesting.

Got "Read My Lips" on. It's a fine album. One of my favourites.

Liena will be out of hospital now. She's going to live with her brother while she convalesces.

Running out of: fags, beers, Jack Daniels. Time to venture out for more supplies I fancy.

Very strange. I feel strangely emotional for some reason. Sad and wistful. Don't know why. It got so intense that I went to bed for a couple of hours' kip, but woke up just now feeling the same. Weird.

Anyway it's not cold, thank goodness. I haven't got the heater on in here and I'm not wearing a cardigan. The wind is blowing a bit, but they forecast a high of 19 for tomorrow. Today it was about 16. The winter weather never attacks you like it did in Aberdeen - it softly grinds you down with rain and murk.

I'm feeling a bit more settled now. It felt like I'm an onion and God removed another layer, exposing old pain and sadness underneath.

Now I'm having a fantastic time with God. It seems the emotions of today were indeed a sign of my Father's dealing with me.

smiley - brokenheartsmiley - angel - that's how it happens. First comes the weeping, then the rejoicing - first the Friday, then the Sunday.

To all who don't know our heavenly Father - you're missing out on a heck of a trip!

From the sublime... I have worked out why I love kate bush. She is dripping with horniness.

Ugh dagesh I must protest! Kate Bush was always just a shade on the ephemeral asexual side, and in middle age looks remarkably like Delia Smith. [Of course you might find her equally appealing.]

What???!!!

My goodness, it's a good job we're all different.

She has become a bit of a "mother" now, but in her early days she was hot stuff!

Hey Doug.. he used that word again: "know".

Jeez.. it's simply not possible.

Maybe I'm being too pedantic.. but blatent and deliberate misuse of words really p!sses me off.. especially in this context. It's plain lazy. I also think these things are too important to let this kind of 'mistake' go by without correction/comment.

Have to agree with Dag about the lovely Bush.. she was a real hot thing for me (if only!) when she (and I) was younger. I guess I'm lucky in not seeing any images of her since.. what.. the seventies? So I still have that nymph-like image of her back then (and ohh.. that sexy voice).

Keep well.

jont, I have replied to your objection about the word "know" in a separate entry. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F2069052?thread=3033189 Christians use the word differently from non-Christians.

In fact, I am presently arguing that Christians speak an entirely different language from non-Christians, especially when they are talking to other Christians. In everything I write about my faith, I am writing for Christians, unless I am making a special effort to write for non-beleivers. I am not at all surprised you don't understand - you're not meant to.

I have said over and over again that Christianity is designed to be a closed system not accessible to those without faith. Jesus said as much. Nothing I say about Christianity should be intelligible to you, unless I deliberately try to make it so.

I have said this to you over and over again, and yet you still carp and complain.

I suppose I ought to say that my position on these things is only one of a number of different positions a Christian can hold to. Other Christians might disagree with what I say, although at the moment I think I can argue my position OK. There are many cleverer Christians than myself who may be able to find holes in what I believe to be the case.

Hmmm... it may be significant that I used to fancy Delia in the 70s. Her tank tops and lisp really turned me on.

Hey you guys I am assailed by unfortunate associations: burning bush, know in the biblical sense [not, I think, what you meant by the christian sense!] the prim and faintly tortured vowels of Delia at half-time urging on her football team: "let's be 'avin' yer!"

Any minute now you'll be claiming that Anne Atkins sings in the bath with the the thin reedy monochrome voice of Kate!!

thin reedy monochrome?! Kate Bush?

Anne A has quite a nice voice, IMO, but she's so annihilatingly arch that I don't enjoy listening to her.
