Welcome to the new H2G2 (or noohootoo as we lovingly call it).
The site is currently undergoing some major changes in appearance as well as having a big 'For Sale' sign in the front garden, so it is a little difficult to know what to tell you.
There are still various bugs which may spoil the experience somewhat, but the h2g2 editors are working on them.

Ehm, why is it a link to the old site? Or do you prefer it? I'm kinda new here, although i have been reading H2G2 for a while without an account.

Barlesque is not working properly. You can certainly use it, but you can't edit entries, for instance.

Just compare

Barlesque is the skin which was launched to make the appearance of h2g2 fit within the other BBC message boards. We thought we'd only have to get used to a new skin (and I think it actually looks really nice), but it lost a lot of its functionality. The eds are trying to iron out the most obvious bugs, but as three days after the launch we were told that the BBC will try to sell h2g2 (rather than shut it down), I never really bothered much with barlesque. I can't see the point of struggling with something that doesn't work at all in so many aspects when our days here are counted anyway.

Well, I agree with your statement that it looks good, but it indeed has less functions than the old skin.
But I dont care that much, I'm just a hobbyist.(is that the correct word?)

Well, I just noticed one of the bugs I think: teh skin dissappeared, leaving only text on the left side of the screen.
