Hi Paolo,

I've got an old account from back in 2004, some of the posts are a bit embarrassing and I've just spent about an hour trying to log on to delete it. Is there anyway you or someone could delete the account??

Its this one http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/U943965

Thanks
Will

Hi Will, Welcome home Old accounts cannot be deleted, merely no longer used, a bit like Hotel California. Check out this convo, which inspired a whole new religion and has ran for over 10 years (poor nighthoover) http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F19585?thread=143046 Don't read all the backlog, you'll think we're all cracked (you wouldn't be far wrong ) I've left a message on your PS and if you need anything else I'm here pretty much all the time. Mags

Sorry for the late reply.

Do you still have access to the email address you used when setting up the original account? If so, you should receive an email shortly (if not already) asking 'If you are happy for the BBC to pass on your email address to the new owner so they can invite you to re-join H2G2 after it has left the BBC, then please do absolutely nothing!'

You will then be given the option of not allowing that account to be transferred to the new site and it will disappear into the ether.
