Hi and welcome to H2G2 (or hootoo). I’m an ACE (Assistant Community Editors) and I’m here to welcome you to the site.
No, this isn’t an automated reply, really. I’m a real person, feel free to ask me if you’ve got any questions. You can press the reply button at the bottom of the page if you want to ask anything, or you could drop me a message at my personal space. I’m here to help.
You’ll see a lot of conversations and messages around H2G2. You’ll find them at the bottoms of pages and people personal spaces. Anyone can read them or reply. A good thing to know is that when you click the post message button, there’s no going back. You can't edit what you've put. If you’re using smileys, it’s good to use the preview to make sure they’re working (Something I regularly forget )
I’ve found a few good links for new users (stolen off other aces ) you might want to check a few of them out.
A28749630 – sums up H2G2
A719840 – This is Feisor’s page of hints and links, it’s good too read.
A28749630 – A quick guide to your personal space
A53209 – These are the rules for creating edited guide entries. If you’ve got an idea for an entry, just follow these rules and it will get into the edited guide. You’ll get a shiny badge on your personal space if you do.
You seem to be a total mystery. Hopefully, you'll put a little about yourself in your personal space (Or if you're like me, fill it with a mess of colour and moving thingies )
That’s about it. Keep an eye out for the various groups and clubs on H2G2. Most of the other researchers will be happy to chat… They’re all nice people with a good sense of humour. They’d love to meet you.
I’ve officially created an essay-length post (Probably full of typos). , you’re nearly at the bottom now. I’ve probably missed something, but I’m regularly online in the week, and I’m bored most of the time, so don’t be shy, click the reply button!
Most importantly, have fun!

You stole my ace's hi, James!!!
James isn't an ACE, but I am. I spent ages putting that message together as well!
Welcome to H2G2 Fred . You seem to be on all the PIIB threads, but haven't introduced yourself to everyone. You should go to the main PIIB page (You can click on the name at the top of the conversation page off any of their conversations, and I've got a sign up page in my personal space if you scroll down to the top of the dr who pictures, just click on my name above this post to get to it).
I hope to see you around the PIIB...and I'm blaming James if he gets too many people on here and Dave blocks it!
Key: Complain about this post
