Can I draw your attention to
http://www.h2g2.com/F35868&thread=76134&skip=700&show=20 post 707.
If this is the general feeling of all S.T.U.M.P.E.D. members I will resign my membership of S.T.U.M.P.E.D. , if not can someone try and persuade NYC to talk to me in another forum (my page or his, I don't mind) so we can sort this out.
Regards
Happy

happy, don't do it.
i'm just saying this to all of you:
if you say he can't be in STUMPED anymore, count me out too. i don't want to be in an organization that kicks people out. that's not the point of this website. and be forewarned that if i DO resign, the stuff will hit the fan for you. i might even have to join CHOPPERS.

Thanks Sea, however I do not want to spoil anyone enjoyment - If its just NYC who has a problem I stay, BUT if he is right and the feeling of discontentment against me is more wide spread then the only decent thing is to do is resign & withdraw from all S.T.U.M.P.E.D. forums.
There would be no need or anyone else to resign.

maybe it's not necessary, but if that happens, i'll want to.

HappyDude Posted Jan 11, 2001
I would rather not be the cause of that but it is a free world.

soeasilyamused, or sea Posted Jan 11, 2001
you wouldn't be the cause. if all the other villains say they want you to leave, THEY will be the cause.

Well, Happy, this is indeed a serious matter. This is how I look at it:
1) You've shown yourself to be a good member of STUMPED on several occasions. The main reason behind the original formation of STUMPED was that it was an interesting way to have fun, and no one would be harmed by it. You've definitely had fun, as have others.
2) However, the disregarding of continuity is a serious matter that I have attempted to keep in place since the first game of Twister.
3) It seems to me that breaking continuity could be easily changed if you had a preposted listing of both strengths *and* weaknesses (if you've already done so and I've merely overlooked it, forgive me.) For instance, very quick healing properties and being somewhat annoying to enemies would be acceptable, wheras the sudden appearance of Battlestar Galactica ships and total invulnerability to nearly all forms of pain and punishment would probably not, unless those just happen to be seed stories that have already been worked into the plot and are generally agreed on by most people in the forum.
4) While you have done some odd continuity breaking, I do recall NYC himself doing minor breakages himself (the sudden creation of tools to use that he explains by stating 'that did not exist ten minutes before,' or something along those lines), so I feel that I will lightly consider that.
5) You definitely contribute to the general wacky feel of things when you aren't being overly annoying.
6) Now, you can't really expect me to lightly just leat Sea defect to CHOPPERS, can you?
All in all, while this is a serious case, I think that you should stay, providing that you mellow down (meaning a reaction to your head getting chopped off, etc. ). If you leave STUMPED in the near future, it won't be by *my* request.
And for the record, Battlestar Galactica ships are in the h2g2 Universe. Along with Star Trek, Babylon-5, Star Wars, Escape Velocity, War of the Worlds, and pretty much every other Sci-Fi based show.
And for NYC's sake, I'll just reiterate that you should just calm down occasionally. And I'll give him my consolences if he's had a bad day.

Thanks for the (conditional) vote of confidence KL You might also want to look at http://www.h2g2.com/F46301?thread=97546 I have said elsewhere I am willing to make the effort if NYC is ? One question:"And for the record, Battlestar Galactica ships are in the h2g2 Universe. Along with Star Trek, Babylon-5, Star Wars, Escape Velocity, War of the Worlds, and pretty much every other Sci-Fi based show." dose that include Buck Rogers ?

*sea grins*
[sea] this is why the KL is the leader of STUMPED. he's very diplomatic for a supervillain...

[sea] nope... i think IRL i'm a bit young for that...
sea has recently been revealed to be around 150 years old, but IRL she's only 17

I take it IRL you don't have access to iffy SciFi sattalite/Cable channels then ? In the UK the SciFi Channel regulary repeats Bucks adventures
