Yes, well, the Eds tell me that they're "hoping" to introduce the new version by Christmas. Given the BBC's notorious attitude to deadlines (they love that whooshing sound) I figgered I'd better let Reddyfreddy wither on the vine, so to speak, until such time as they can better guarantee my anonymity.

That's very patient and accommodating of you. I'd be pretty pissed if it was affecting me in that way. I'm still curious if it was an oversight or what. I suspect that the iD people forgot or didn't realise about the unique history here.
