Welcome, welcome, welcome, to the wonderful site of H2G2 (other wise known as hootoo - you will see this word a lot). I am an <./>ACE</.>, and I'm here to help you settle into your new home

H2G2 is a living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything, and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review. Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that.

I've created a little list of links, just for you, so click here <./>A1159210</.> and have a look at them (actually the links are my daughters...but hey!! Hootoo is one big family )

If you click on each link, they will take you to parts of hootoo no sane person should ever go alone on this site.....

......but as it seems no one here is sane, it doesn't matter does it!

Have a look around, pop into my personal space and read some conversations that I have on the go at the moment and you will see how things work. Don't be frightened to jump in on conversations, hootooers don't bite (well, some of them do, but I'll steer you well clear of those), just be aware of the thread you are reading and whether or not it is a private conversation between two people.

Thanks Lil! Thats comforting as I spent last night trying to work the whole shooting match out. Im hoping to try joining a few conversations today so if I encounter any difficulties ill give you a shout.

Poor you. Have you deected to Brunel, then?

I was introduced by my daughter to hootoo.. and she put me into Brunel.. I can't read any of the others properly... sorry.

That's alright. I joined just as they switched to Alabaster and there was this whole anti-Alabaster movement and I must say, the Goo look was always a little less formal, and I don't dig formality, so thus I became a Goo-er.

I am convinced that a person's skin preference says a lot about their Guiding in general. And about the person. I love the contrast between the blue background and the rather brightly coloured pictures so it's happy.

But I can understand your preference for Brunel. Though the guiders are causing schism each time a new skin comes forward.

I have a fear of computers and I can read Brunel, everything is there for me to see.

With Goo and Alabaster, I get confused and just want to back away... We had a problem online a few months back.. Everything turned into the opposite skins! Alabaster got Brunel and vice versa! We all complained of after that experience

But hootoo has definitely helped me to cope with the PC more.. it has given me a confidence I never had before...

That's excellent to hear. Maybe I should recommend it for my Mum, as well. She's absolutely hopeless with computers. But she has braved MSN messenger, which I'm thouroughly impressed about, as it costs a fortune to call between Edinburgh and Alaska.
