Retford?!?!?

Hi Adam

Read your interesting contribution - much of which (like for example the title) is way above my head. There is just one thing, however, which troubles me.

What's so nasty about Retford???

Been??! My good Doctor, I was born there! In the market square!! [Well, OK, not actually in the market square, but in an ambulance in the market square ...smiley - smiley ] Lived there for many years.

I will allow you the "attitude" - I have worked in Worksop, so know a bit about the local politics between the two towns. But whether this makes it "nasty", or any different from most small towns...?! Delusions of grandeur, I suppose!

So, can't I say anything to persuade you?

Possible, but not everso likely, as I have now reached the immensely significant age of 42, whilst I see that you are but a youngster smiley - smiley We have just moved back into the area, so no doubt I will be visiting Retford a bit more often now - I will give it your regards when I do!

Good to talk to you - I am beginning to enjoy the Internet version of the Guide! During our move, our 8-year old (also called Adam) discovered an interesting book with "Don't Panic" on the cover, so I am now reading him all about Arthur Dent, Zaphod Beeblebrox and Infinite Improbability Drives. Can't do the Marvin voice though!!

All the best

Chris
