Why does everyone half way interesting in this site live overseas? I want desperately to go to Scotland some day...........
I live in Canada and I love your name!
Amethyst is very available in Canada; is it in Scotland? Why the name?
wHY LOVE as a reason to be cheerful? I guess if I had some I'd know why.............sorry, I am two sheets to the wind, very unhappily maqrried, and just went to my cousin's engagement party and was asked to read that stupid corinthians love is kind, blah blah thing........
sorry, very negative hello here; hope all is well

Hi SnowWhite,I take it there is no Prince to wake you up at the moment then or does your name bear no relation to the Walt disney film.
My name is related to my birthstone and to the fact that my spirit is a little wild I am also out in the wilderness ,in amongst the hills
I hope you don't give up on ,I am sorry to hear you are unhappy at the moment.
Please feel free to have a chat or good old moan ,if you feel like it.
What is Canada like to live in?

SnowWhite Posted Aug 22, 2005
I picked SnowWhite as it was Christmas time and all the snow all about and I just chose it...........
Canada is a nice place to live, but I have no comparison; I have never lived even out of province. I have visited the coasts though...
I would love to go to Scotland! My great grandfather was from Scotland and, according to my grandmother, the inherited Earl to Ross(Roth?)shire.....whatever that may mean...........
He's long dead now............
Did you have any specific questions on Canada?
Do they have Amethyst in Scotland? So, are you an Aquarius then?

I like winter as a season ,walking on fresh snow and leaving new footprints is a joy to me
I have seen Canada on film and it looks splendid!,some of the cities look really cosmopolitan, and the countryside so diverse
Which part of Canada do you live in North,South..?
Did you trace your family tree? A scottish great grandfather you are sort of gentry and of noble blood then* quickly bows in reverence to the Lady of Rothshire*.You must have a family motto
They do have Amethyst in the hills in Scotland, and I am an Aquarian
What birthstone and sign are you?

"...bows to Lady Rothshire..." sounds like a romance novel; you better stop; I think I am falling in love!
I live in central south Canada; Ontario, Ottawa; the Capital. It is lovely, though I do prefer the East coast Maritimes, but the unemployment there is notorious.
I have attempted a family tree, but there were so many Gordon Ross's that it was ridiculous. My great grandfather, the inherited Earl (according to my grandmother, who saw a letter stating this) was a Gordon Ross, I think (I have unfortunatley forgotten and my grandmother is dead and I cannot confirm)he was born in Edinburgh; and that was not very helpful in the archives........I shall have to visit Scotland some day and look it up and claim my castle (if there is one).
I am a turquoise or lapis lazuli birthstone, Sagittarius.
(We rhyme)

How is the Lady Rothshire today
It is now 1.00 am here in Scotland ,I was in bed but couldn't sleep so decided to get up and here I am!
What is the time difference between Ontario and here.I live in the kingdom of Fife ,about an hour from Edinburgh.
What if you are the only heir to a landed estate complete with a castle and you inherit a fortune from an offshore oil refinery that your great grandad owned
What would you do my Lady Rothshire? what would make you happy?
Did I mention I do have an overactive imagination and am an incurable romantic worst of all an eternal optimist
My bestfriend is a Sagittarius, she is half Hungarian and half Scot!

You are a breath of fresh, heathery air!
The Lady Rothshire is wonderful today; my golden tresses have curled just so (in our city's humidity) and I have a lovely bouquet of roses on my table.
What would make me happy? Easy; freedom. Being able to quit my job because I inherited a castly and offshore oil refinery so I can spend my time riding horses along the shore as the crystal waves try furiously to catch me!
I will hear the siren's voices, and breathe the salty air, then gallop back to my castle to have a warm bath and tea before greeting my guests by the hearth in the library.
That is a glimpse of what would make me happy.
I am not sure of the time difference; I think it may be 5 hours; it is 5pm here so I'm guessing at 10 pm there.....????
Kingdom of Fife; sounds much more romantic than Municipality of Ottawa. Isn't a Fife a flute? Like Fife and drum?
Well, I am off for a walk; I hope you have sweeter dreams tonight.

Evening my Lady Rothshire
I too am a blonde and suffer from curly hair in humidity.Did someone send you roses?I adore the scent of flowers, especially as I walk past them in my garden of an evening
Freedom ,that is an elusive thing to hope for,and an admirable one.Think I share your dream of riding horses along the sand.
What would you do after your guests arrived ? would there be dancing and oh and fireworks in the night sky
It is good to dream and stretch our imagination
Hope you enjoyed your walk, another of my favorite things, just as well since am surrounded by countryside and there is a farm with horse stables 10 minutes walk from my house. At around 6pm they let the horses have a run around the fields before they stable them for the evening.I liked to watch them run free it makes me feel very alive.
Tell me more of your dream of freedom soon

Good afternoon, Wildamethyst.
I hope you have passed a lovely week. How fortunate for you to be so close to a stable; do they let people ride the horses?
There are so few places here with horses and fewer still that have riding rentals; and at that you are on a trail.........
Sunday night I saw the Rolling Stones! It was a fabulous show!
Perhaps they would come to my castle and mingle and play afew sets. Fireworks is a fabulous idea ( they had fireworks at the show too, conincidentally)
Of course, some nights it would be nice to just sit by the fire, listen to the crashing waves and chat.....and have sweets! Rich creamy sweets! Or cheese and fruit.
I would love to have a good old-fashioned Highland Fling. I hear the dance is quite something if done well.
Perhaps we could all dress up in period clothes and have an old-fashioned Christmas or New Year's ball?
And an old-fashioned meal served on pewter plates........
Lots of candles and fires........
Lots of spicy sweets.........

How are you this week I passed my exam only another 5 to go now
Yes it is a horse riding stable Horses are beautiful and graceful creatures.
a Stones concert *bows in reverence to my Lady R* I imagine that to be pretty spectacular.Did they sing 'Wild horses'?
I haven't listened to them in ages must dig out the CDs.You forget just how many classic songs they recorded
Yes lets get them to play at the castle against the night sky illuminated with fireworks
Sitting talking over the fire in the library while the logs crackle on the fire, and the smell of the pine resin from the wood fills the air.Scottish Brie for the cheese and fresh berries for the fruit.Oh and to go with the
Then the dancing with handsome well toned men in kilts who listen to your conversation and dance like demons
Period clothes would be wonderful ,1920's to start with and old blues on the gramophone.A real victorian christmas our jewels would twinkle and sparkle in the candle light. One of the Lords would fall hopelessly in with you as quick as lightening there would be Would you break his heart I wonder or ....

Congratulations on your exam! School in the summer over there? How odd.....
What are you studying? Literature? You certaily have a way with words!
Scottish Brie? Really? I have never heard of it.... Probably does not travel well enough to bring into shops here?
Perhaps I shall have to make an expedition of it; on a nice, crisp, fall day, with my Hunting Ross scarf curled about my neck and my tall, dark, blue-eyed beau on my arm as we visit the shops in the market in search for Scottish Brie, .........and he stops and presents me with an autumn bouquet, and we take a carriage home..........(there are horse and carriages near me as I live near the downtown touristy area; they would not take us quite to the door however)

P.S.
I quite agree with all the twinkling jewels at our Victorian Christmastime!
The Stones did not play that; they missed afew of my favourites; Ruby Tuesday, Let's spend the night Together, afew others, but they did alot of oldies and goodies and a fabulous cover of one of my favourites, "Night and Day" of Ray Charles fame.

Scottish brie is every bit as nice as French brie very creamy and especially with mini oatcakes and a glass of cold chablis
am I studing a computer course called the ECDL ,it takes about a year as a part time student.I did study English previously though
What about you ? do you study or work or both like me(am also a part time carer for the NHS)
The heather and bracken smell wonderful in Autumn so your bouquet would include them.Horses and carriage would clatter and the horses hooves would thump against the compact ground of the lanes like a heartbeat
Ray Charles fan too listening to the Stones make me think of long hot summers

What is NHS?
I am done studying (formally) and am working. I am a cariovascular technician but due to lack of hours also a communications officer at another hospital.(I'm the one who calls the doctors out of bed at night and links up everyone for stat codes, trauma codes, etc. It is a fabulous job.
Except for the shiftwork.
Never seen a ghost yet; keep thinking in a hospital at night, and all..........
probably just as well though!
I long for a trip to Scotland! Especially after all your description!
Have you travelled much? I have not....... there is, however, time.

xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Sep 6, 2005
The NHS is the national health service what a fabulous job you have
Ghosts I believe they are definately out there.
I haven't travelled that much,France,Belgium,Spain,Malta and Germany. So no further than Europe, would to do more though.I do Scotland though, it has diverse and dramatic scenery.Travelling always makes me a little restless and a little unsettled when I return to normality
Where would you go ?,I would really like to visit Switzerland (I can't get enough of mountains
Nice of you to drop by
SnowWhite Posted Sep 7, 2005
Neat; so we are both in health care.
How is health care in Scotland? It is free here to a certain point, but that seems to be an increasing strain (so say the politicians at their big fancy lunches) so who knows...........
I would like to travel anywhere and everywhere, though I really hate plane rides and waiting in airports! I am not afraid on the plane, I think if I had my own luxury jet I'd be fine, I get cabin fever stuck in a little seat for too long; so this will limit where I go....
I really want to do New Orleans(a little late on that one perhaps), Las Vegas, Alberta; the Badlands; Canada's desert, Scotland, Paris, London, Germany, Greece, maybe Italy, Sicily perhaps, I used to want to do Egypt until I found out that they can close the pyramids and tombs anytime they want for religious emergencies and I thought it would be discouraging to spend all that time and money and have their be a religious emergency..........
I have seen Nova Scotia, gorgous, and the Mayan Riviera; I climbed Chichen Itza. Fabulous.

Health care goddesses
The NHS is feeling the strain at the moment ,it is still free to a point but certain treatments are not available to some people depending on where they live.A postcode lottery from region to region, but that is down to the politicians not the staff.
Cabin feverLas Vegas would be on my list too.Paris I would to return too, there was so much to see and do.Italy the food ,the wine, the clothes, the men
You mountains too ,the best place to see a mountain is from the top of another mountain
So what are you looking forward to doing at the weekend? anything special

It must be great to live in Europe and be so close to travel! I envy you!
Well, Saturday I work, then we are going to my moms for dinner, Sunday I want to bike ride and search for rocks and shells along the beach if it is nice. Then maybe Andrew's aunt and uncle over for a bar-b-cue........not sure if they can make it.
I really want to see the new exorcism movie; the exorcism of emily rose or something........is it out in Scotland now?
How about you?

Been working today.Do not intend to do anything much this evening ,my bestfriend is popping in for a chat so just relax and enjoy the evening.
Tomorrow I really must catch up on some jobs in the garden ,it has rained for two days so that will be up to the gods am afraid
The beach is a place I ,the sea air and the white sand dunes ,making footprints in wet sand, driftwood and starfish
I haven't been to the cinema for ages, lack of time has been the problem.Yes that elusive thing freedom*sighs wistfully*
Enjoy your bar-b-cue (it is actually quite cold here today so I envy you)
Take care and speak soon

SnowWhite Posted Sep 13, 2005
Well, did not do the barbcue after all as his aunt and uncle were unavailable so we just had spagetti.....I think; I've forgotten now.......(it was that delicious I guess
Freedom; free to be dumb; not work, play, share too much, not plan for the future,..........just a sudden thought that has struck me now in the wee hours of the night ...............
what is it about the wee hours of the night? The darkness seems full of hope in a way; covers the sins, imperfections; promisses a new beginning full of sunshine; but sometimes it rains, doesn't it?
Well, I hope you had a lovely visit.........I will have to go in search of Scottish brie this weekend though I think oat cakes may be out of scope; are they soft muffin like cakes?
Chat soon.
