Hi Lys
When you greet newcomers to h2g2 - be sure to check that spelling - remember it will be the first thing people see and they may not as friendly as older researchers.
Can I suggest you type out a standard welcome that you have checked and saved into a file - then copy and paste it onto the forum every time. That way you know it will be right every time.
It is alright when talking to older researchers they will be more forgiving and just read it as if it was spelt right.

Dont get in a huff - Lys - and dont take it personally - I welcome you at the newcomers pages and always will - I am very bad at spelling myself and have to really check all the time. - all I am asking you is to do the same as I and a lot of the Aces and GAs do.
If you type out a standard welcome - using word pad - make sure it says what you want it to saay, then save it to file. Whenever you go out and great people who are new - you just copy it and paste it into the forum. We all do it - it saves us making a fool of ourselves.
I you have taken offense - I am sorry - but there is no need - as I told you on my forum that you visit from time to time - all Researchers who have been around for a while, wont take any notice but it may be different with newcomers.
Oh, we are having a vote on my page on what I should put up next - The romantic page is winning at the moment. Why not come over and have your say.
all the best veg
