Hallooo Petunia,
I was lurking through the area (as I am want to do being a shadow and all) and I just thought I'd pop in and welcome you to H2G2 too. I'm Shadow (as I said),another one of the Assistant Community Editor's here. We’re the volunteer welcoming committee, among other things. If you have any questions or need help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask. You can do so by either clicking on REPLY below or by clicking on my name above and leaving a message at my page http://www.h2g2.com/U133044. If you're looking for a place to get started, the following is always a good spot http://www.h2g2.com/A5752. There is also a handy quick reference guide at http://www.h2g2.com/A344756. Now, if it’s writing a Guide entry or two you’re interested in, say no more! Here are two links that are SURE to come in handy. The list of Guide entries that haven’t been written yet, but should be: http://h2g2.com/A234677 AND The list of Guide Entries that need to be rewritten: http://www.h2g2.com/A237241. (This is almost always because they definitely do not match the style the editing staff is looking for. Whatever you decide to do, have fun wandering the vast, twisted and myriad halls of this place. There's a LOT to do, see and comment on here and everyone's opinion(s) is welcome. So don't be afraid to jump right in and offer your view(s) on anything! Remember, if you need help or have questions about anything, don’t hesitate to ask, that’s what I and the other ACE’s are here for.
Welcome again,
~S

And if you don't like reading large blocks of text, ignore the above and just have fun.

Or if you're one of the people that like to at least have a basic clue as to how to get around easily and what the purpose of the entire thing is that you're wandering around in, read the above...then have fun.

Thank you for the welcome and the information. I'm sure that I will find the information useful, and it's good to have it on hand for when I will need it. I think this web site is incredible and those who thought it up and implemented are to be commended. Years ago when I first read the Hitchhiker's Guide, I would never have imagined that years later I would be in cyperspace participating in the Earth version! It's nice to know that fun dreams come true!

Isn't it though Petunia? I've written and submitted two hopeful Guide Entries myself. The part I really think is the nicest is that even if they don't get accepted as "Official Guide Entries", they can still come up in searches that people do of the Guide if they check that box. Meaning it's probably going to get read anyway, even if it isn't accepted officially. If you want or need any help in writing an entry or coming up with a topic for one, PLEASE let me know! It's what I and the other ACE's (Assistant Community Editor's) are here for. I've already contributed 10 topics to the list of Entries that need to be written, but haven't been yet and they're not topics I'm likely to work on myself. So if you need one or an idea for one that you take, branch off of and into something else entirely, lemme know. I'm always glad to lend a hand...or an ear...or some words...or punctuation...or spellig...okay maybe not spelling.
