Hi Snowman,

Well, I live in Tasmania, which is almost the same thing as living in Australia. I have heard of KBW, but don't know anything about his music and definitely haven't heard of the 'Potato Song'. If there is something you wanted to know about the song or Kevin, I will gladly look it up and see what I can find for you.

Walter.

Walter, I'm not too bother about KBW I can look him up myself, I just used it as a conversation starter. Now I'm wondering what is different about tasmania and australia. Oh and by the way I end all my conversations with the snowman smiley smiley - snowman seeing as that is the smiley that represents my name. smiley - snowman

Gooday Snowman,

I like your logo. I see from your home site, which I visited (I mean that must be bleedingly obvious but I'm like that so bear with me please) that one of your ambitions is to feed dog biscuits to your sister. I have actually done that - not to your sister, or not knowingly, but to my sister. You know what the problem with that is, or was in my case? She liked them!!

It's hard to say why Tasmanians think of themselves as something different from run of the mill Australians. The answer might be the same sort of way that some people in Cornwall think they are a bit off the pace from the rest of England, or Virginians from the rest of the USA. It may be to do with being an island State. Most of the rest of Australia thinks that Tasmanians are weird, and inbred, and hick rednecks etc, and lots of jokes are made against them, a bit like the rage for Essex girls jokes, or Irish jokes. It's funny most of the time, but you do worry about whether anyone actually gets to thinking beyond the stereotypes.

I would end all of my conversations with a wombat smiley if there was such a thing, but until one comes along I will make do with 'take care'.

Walter

Hi Walter, I myself have read your page and noted that you have an interest in the Roman empire, I live near the Roman town of Colchester (or Camulodunum as it is know in Roman). Colchester was the first Roman town so if you have any questions just ask. So as I live near Colchester that also means I Iive in Essex and I know what you mean about the Essex girl jokes. Snowman,

You live near Colchester?!!! Where? I went to school in Colchester and spent a good deal of my boyhood there. Tell me more, though, about where you are etc etc. What a wonderful surprise. Perhaps you have heard of the village where I was born and raised - Earls Colne?

Walter.

Walter,
I live on Mersea Island and yes I have heard of Earls Colne, its west of Colchester and Mersea is south of Colchester.
Which school (educational hell-hole) did you go to?

Hi Snowman,

I spent a few days at Mersea with the Sea Scouts; I think it was a Jamboree or whatever it is that sea scouts do. I think I remember that we went out from the shore in a lot of mud, which seems pretty daft now but probably seemed liked great fun at the time.

I went to Colchester Grammar, until they expelled me. I think that in time both the school and me more or less got over it. Take care

Walter.
