I've been here from time to time, using the place without adding anything. That What news item has caught your eye is invaluable, for instance. And the Youtube recommendations,
I'm not sure I'll actually write any guide entries, but I thought I'd get my feet wet in a couple of threads, and see how it goes.

and take your time - when I first became a researcher, I didn't know anything about HTML, but after a while I got envious about the snazzy looking user pages of other researchers.
Trying to find out how to 'spice up' my own page taught me a *lot* - things that have proved to be useful to me career wise.
