you know what I find the worst of all?
That I think the creature is a teacher.

Can you imagine her explaining the kids the democratic system and a kid asking:
"But how such people´s ideas can fit in politics? What should be done? Just ignore them? shouldn´t we show somehow that we don´t tolerate such behaviour?..."

She doesn´t get the idea of what ethics means. The responsability of society to not tolerate such ideas. The negative example adults give by not opposing those ideas actively.

But... what can you expect of someone who says things like: " I don´t want my children to waste their lives being historians" I think that bit tells quite a lot about many things.

On the other hand, she ignores the basic ethics of societies " are you a God" also tells where morality seems to come from, according to her.
ah, well.

I won´t post there for a while, I´m too busy with my exams and it would be a truly waste of time to try to make her understand anything. Again.
I can´t also put up with her agressive style. I can´t remember any other researcher like her. Maybe Sorb, but he wasn´t so clumsy, just churlish.

The Arabic thing was just *bizarre*, wasn't it? And she has a nerve calling others rude.

I suppose she *does* have a point on whether/how The Forces Of Darkness should be excluded from the mainstream. But it's a paradox of democracy and we should at least admit contradictions it throws up. Germany 1932 etc etc. ('But Britain's not Germany!' Yes, yes. That wasn't my point...)

Thanks for the Youssou N'Dour, btw. I've been a fan for years - my favourite album being 'Immigrés' - sung in French, Wolof and Fulani. I saw him perform many years ago, when he sang Bob Dylan's 'Chimes of Freedom'.

I'm tempted to say something Marxist about ideas being the products of material circumstances. But maybe I'd be better sticking to Kant instead.

Kant? I Kan´t agree with the idea that ideas sprout pure and natural in our minds, like racism, as the creature says.

I´ve started to consider HI suggestion on not feeding the troll. It´s tempting to answer. Providing a link from the WHO; telling that colonialism and slavery still exist; the cruel drug testing on African children by farmaceutic firms...But what for? trolliggy has his agenda of defending or miminizing fascists, just the same as last year, he´s obsessed with the issue. Btw, in the last year thread, the one I linked "BNP, far right?", there was also a reference about slavery and the history of Britain, in the same tune he´s now pointing at. The same topics over and over again.

He´s an attention seeker. An ego that was fed here by those who love a bully insulting with "clever" remarks. He needs the applause, that´s way so pathetically comes back here once and again. It´s like those old glories of cinema, can´t resist being out of the focus and far from the unconditional applause.

and... don´t you think that we could have a new version of "We are the world..." There are at least two singers, so suddenly worried about Africans...
