We really do need some new authors like you - ones who can write about their part of the world.

You can see how few there are. Maybe you would consider writing a short Entry on something you know about? It wouldn't necessarily have to be about food. I'm quite interested in the development of 'agroturismo' (if that is the right word?)

Agriturismo. The word stands for "Agricultural tourism". In order to open one, the law requires that the structure should be surrounded by a considerable extent of land. My confused reminiscences suggest that about, or more than, 7 hectares (70 000 square metres - about 14 acres) are required. Guests do not have to work on the farm. Thank God. Where I live they say "la terra è bassa" (the land is low) meaning that growing crops (particularly an orchard) is a hard job. Some Agriturismi are posh (horse riding, swimming pool, tennis), others basic (room w/bath, breakfast). Prices thus vary from a minimum of 40 euro/night to more than 80. There is an association of Agriturismo operators. If you're interested I'll try to find their guide.

Lanzababy, I've had an idea about an entry on Rome. It will take me a month, if not more, to write it as I have to do some research, which involves going there. It'a trip down under, which I presume is hardly known by foreign tourists, and possibly by Romans themselves. Ciao
