I haven't posted in either of the threads in question, but I have been following the "news" thread for ages and the "Libya" thread since it started, and your posts have been (or have linked to) some of the most informative stuff I've ever seen. Given what shows up in most of the news venues here in the US, your perspective has been a shining beacon!
Please... don't stop!
(I note you'll be away for a week- I hope it's for pleasant reasons and not something yucky. Take care- and look forward to reading more of your posts soon.)

Hi thanks for your comments
I am also interested in why some (which I think might be quite a
significant number) found my posts on Libya unfair and rather
"annoying". So hopefully SWL will also continue to discuss
the matter with me on a public thread.

I'm not sure why anyone might find them boring- unless perhaps what was being implied was that since most of your posts were related to Libya they might be better placed in a separate thread. But if the thread's called "what news story has caught your attention today", and those are the stories that have your attention, then they're hardly off-topic.
I just wanted you to know that some of us do find them informative, and would like to continue reading them in some thread, if not necessarily that particular one. It's clear that it's important to you, and plenty of people make numerous postings on rather inane subjects. If someone isn't interested they can just skip over it.
Key: Complain about this post
