Hello Bob
I am dyslexic and I teach at a university so don't let it get you down. Quite a lot of people who work here are in varying degrees. It needn't stop you doing what you want.
I have a computer at work that I speak into that types for me.. You should be entitled to a disabled student allowance to pay for one.Go see your disability officer. Unfortunately it is not good on accents and sometimes you get funny words
.....shizbuts.......see what I mean?
I think you are very brave to write up a page and go on message boards...it's not easy. I didn't go to uni until I was 30 because i always thought I was stupid. Now I teach post graduates.
Most dyslexics have a high IQ ....so go for it!!!

Tabicta's so right!
Sweety, I don't know how it works there, but here dyslectic people get alot of help. And you've mentioned the Irish thing- people over there should be really stupid to add origin with IQ. I too believe you are very bright, and very brave to do what you want with what you've got. (Actually, I thought so when I just met you- now I find it normal)
Anyway, sweety- go get'em! Don't let anybody tell you you can't.

Hi Bob
I teach Psychology, Sociology and occasionally gender studies.( collectively social studies) Try not to worry about stereotypes ...only ignorant people use them...nice people like you for who you are as a person ..not for how you look or speak.
As an old fat lady who is a single parent ..I have heard it all before ..but its made me stronger as a person and as I've got older ..I've learnt not to let it bother me. The answer is" I can always go ona diet, have elocution lessons etc. but you will always be a bigot/moron etc. " I find that works quite well ..I borrowed it from W.C.Fields. Someone said he was a drunk and he replied " I shall be sober in the morning madam ,but you will always be ugly"
Don't let the b******s get you down.

YAY!!!
According to Tabitca's deffinition, I'm a nice person!!!
I'm a complete mutt, my family's of four mixed origins, so I can't be considered as anything, tough I resemble the Maroccan side of my family... which sometimes is enough for stupid people...
Anyway, sweety, I love you for who you are, and so should EVERYBODY! And if someone doesn't- you don't need them as friends anyway...
