Big D, little a, double L, little a, S
Posted Sep 2, 2000
Went to Big D. Tx. last week and in addition to the temp the air quality index was 'hazardous', too.
Speaking of which, there isn't much to do in Dallas in August if you don't imbibe. Lots of restaurants (which was good as we do eat). Highly recommend "Monika's" in Deep Ellum (downtown). Not your usual tex-mex food and Tues. is half-price nite for most dishes. The choreography of the waitstaff is pretty enteraining. Expect to wait.
The art museum was pretty good (and free-except you can't park downtown w/o paying) and the middle east/east exihibit area is really cold. Thot I'd need a jacket. Went outside to warm up. Didn't take long.
Highlight of visit: saw the grassy knoll (actually, we parked just behind the fence). Other than that, we were just as glad to leave as the natives were to have us leave (less our money, of course). Just a bit of jest there. The natives were by and by a pretty courteous lot (maybe Tx. being a concealed carry state has something to do with that, don't know).
but..
gee, but it's great to be back home,
home is where I wanna beee, boy
