That could be it. He was raised in the South, so he's big on the whole "gentleman" thing. I think it's demoralizing for him to have me pay at the movies and restaurants and such. I've been making efforts to ease that lately... pre-paid movie passes, putting money in his account so *he* can pay... etc etc.
