The times they are a changing...
Posted May 20, 2009
I just bought a new computer yesterday to replace the one that went "clank" last year. I was taken aback by the differences in just over the past three years when I got the old one "used". Then I thought back to the first computer I bought way back in 1994. That particular unit was slower and had less power than my friend's I-Phone, and just enough memory on the hard drive to fill up the flash drive I have in my pocket right now. One final insult about that old "Model T" was that it cost around three times as much.
No matter what they say, we live in the best of times. At least, I'm convinced.

So what is Libertarian conservatism?

Well, a mouthful to start with.
Actually, the idea is to combine Milton Freidman's economic theory with a strong federalism, add a fair ammount of Constitutionalism, and a dash of personal responsibility and self reliance. In short, your personal life is your personal business as mine is mine. The government should leave both of us alone and only do what the instruction manual says it can. Everything else should be left to the states. Oh, and let capitalism work on its own.
Of course, you may disagree with my stance on farm subsidies, or I may disagree with your feelings on how to best help the homeless, but being disagreeable is sometimes part of deal here in America.
