...restin' my bones, while I wait until the last possible minute to fly down to Melbourne (TechEd this week - whoo and hoo...)
You can tell I'm ecstatic to spend a further three days away from lovely cats and home and hubby.
*lounges forlornly in a corner of Kes's place, waiting to be cheered up*
Pathetic, much?

*Puts on silly wig and rotating bow tie. Winds up selection of small clockwork animals and lets them run round the floor. Tells joke about the man in the bar with a duck and a biscuit tin*
Feeking cheered up yet? Oh ... right ... In that case, try one of the house special s

I was too busy holding my sides, sorry.
Melbourne is actually warmer than Sydney - how does THAT work?
One of my colleageues tried convincing me yesterday that his theory is that in 100 years time the seasons in Earth's hemispheres will switch. Tried to tell him that seasons are due to the Earth's tilt, not with glbal warming, El Nino or La Nina, but he didn't seem convinced...

All I know is that Melbourne's 6 degrees further South than Perth ... and I noticed the temperature drop every time I flew into Tullamarine! How long are you there for? I found one good view of Melbourne .... in my rear-view mirror!

Here for just another half day - hey! what do you have against Melbourne? If it weren't for the four seasons in one day I could probably live here (except it's away from family)

I don't understand AFL, but I love my Union. I am not following League anymore since commercialism took over the sporting aspect of the game but union still has a strong following in Sydney.
I don't like Melbourne for its weather, but I have always met really nice people everywhere whenever I am down here, more ready to strike up conversations with strangers, etc. It also has fabulous restaurants, cafes, theatre and of course comedy.

You're right about the food and drink, of course ..... Lygon Street is a danger to any diet! ... I wasn't aware that there was any sort of "real" Rugby other than Union .... (Example of how to start a religious war, Hehehe)

I am not that religious about sport, although I have been known to get into some "heated discussions"
