Welcome to h2g2 – not just the friendliest on-line community but an incredibly huge, living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything. It’s compiled by researchers just like you and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that.

You have made a great start by opening your space I hope when you get to know us a little better you'll join in the general silliness and maybe even write for The Guide - but there's no rush - and it's not compulsory

We ACEs are volunteers here to assist new researchers so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark not only your space but the H2G2 <./>FrontPage</.> - it’s a great way to stay in touch with what’s happening and leads to all sorts of corners which you may otherwise miss.

Do some exploring and you'll find that the site has everything from the nonsense japing to debates on any number of diverse subjects. Many lasting friendships and relationships have been born on hootoo. It's kind of an online pub and encyclopaedia.

I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know

Thank you M. Feisor! I'm glad to be here. -- I just posted an entry, suited for the Underguide I would think, entitled 'Pet-Sitting for Atomic Physicists -- A Cautionary Guide (In Bad-Haiku Form)'. It's something I scribbled a few weeks ago, amidst much (Bad-) Haikuing elsewhere on the Net, but never posted. I think it might be amusing. Particularly if one is a little bit conversant with at least a teeny bit of quantum physics references -- on strictly the layperson's level I mean, hey I'm a musician! -- such as the Schrodinger's Cat thought-experiment, the Uncertainty Principle, the tidbit about Einstein NOT liking the whole 'random' dice-throwing aspect of quantum theory, etc. Hoping someone gets a chuckle out of it. (One has to open the box to find out, though, eh? They are either laughing... or not laughing. Or both at the same time perhaps, with a casual wave function of humor probability.... until we open that dang box and take a look in, of course!) Cheers, BeccaP.

Haven't dipped into h2g2 for a bit. Just realized that I *hadn't* actually edited this piece w/the changes I'd wanted to do (eliminating the Wikipedia link -- tho I did leave a mention of it in there b/c of a quote I lift from it); fixing the Schro$#!@*&%^dinger weird characters, etc. Somehow I thought I'd done it already, but nope. Sorry to have disappeared like that - anyway, the thing is likely getting closer )or already there...???) to being 'camera ready', I think.

Thank you-guys for all your feedback and pointers and patience. Lemme know if there's anything else worth tweaking/editing out / etc. --And let me know whatcha-all think about me mentioning the Wiki article.. I think the mention is pretty low-key, unlinked; when I'm not exhausted (long trip) I'll compare the Guide Entry and the Wiki article and see if indeed there are any very useful blurbs at Wiki untouched-upon by the Guide Entry, that would make it worth my mentioning it (though not full-out linking to it).
