Welcome, welcome, welcome, to the wonderful site of H2G2 (otherwise known as hootoo - you will see this word a lot). This is not an automated message, I am an <./>ACE</.>, and I'm here to help you settle into your new home smiley - winkeye

H2G2 is a living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything. Take a look in here: <./>info?cmd=art</.>. It's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review. Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on thatsmiley - smiley

I've created a little list of links, just for you, so click on A4992357 and have a look at them (actually the links are my daughter's... but, hey Hootoo is one big family!) smiley - biggrin

If you click on each link, they will take you to parts of hootoo no sane person should ever go alone on this site.....

......but, as it seems no one here is sane, it doesn't matter does it? smiley - tongueout

Have a look around, pop into my personal space and read some conversations that I have on the go at the moment and you will see how things work. Don't be frightened to jump in on conversations, hootooers don't bite. (Well, some of them do. Just be aware of the thread you are reading and whether or not it "appears" to be a private conversation between two people.) However, if you wish to chat with one of them, click on their name tag and leave a message in their Personal Space. smiley - ok

You could have a look here too!: <./>info?cmd=conv</.> You might find some of your future friends in there.

Remember, if you get lost shout for help and, hopefully, I'll be around to give you a helping hand. In case I'm not around, just leave a message here <./>ACE</.> and someone will be with you just as soon as they can. Failing that, just click on MY SPACE on the left hand side of your screen and you'll get back to your personal space. smiley - towel

Remember, I'm here to help. smiley - magic

It gets easier. I had smoked for over 30 years and never tried to give up before.

I made my decision to give up on 31st January - because February is the shortest month smiley - winkeye

That was 5 years ago smiley - biggrin

Ooh congrats on about the impending grandmotherhood (is that even a word?)

smiley - hug good to be back, been struggling to find the time at all

moved again last June to a bigger house round the corner from where we were

past 2 years have been hectic, my middle daughter was diagnosed with Aspergers last March and my youngest daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in January just past, so thats me and three of the kids with Type 1 now. on top of that my eldest loon was diagnosed with hypermobility in february so its all go in our house as usual

still doing degree as well and working hard so kinda neglected on here for a while but it's nice to be back.

hows life treating you?

Three with diabetes! Is that normal in families? smiley - erm

Hypermobility is painful - we have a Guide Entry about it, somewhere.

Asperger's? We have a nephew with that, when he was younger his mum couldn't leave him alone at home, because he would dismantle things to see how they worked! smiley - yikes

He became much better and controlled the urge as he grew up.

Hubby and I have moved too. His dad died last year, so we bought the bungalow and moved in here in September. Lots of things need doing. We've just had a new kitchen installed, and as it was of non-standard construction, we've had the out aluminium walls replaced with insulation bricks, and the whole thing rendered!

its not normal at all, they can't quite believe it at the clinic, doing genetic tests to find out if the other two of the 5 are likely to develop it.

that sounds like a big job on the house hope it all goes well.

Erin's Aspegers is interesting she has a thing for drawing and some of the pictures she does are amazing for a 9 year old so that's here wee thing smiley - smiley

At least the bungalow is still standing smiley - biggrin

I hope your other 2 youngsters are negative for diabetes smiley - hug

Most youngsters with Asperger's appear to be very artistic in nature. I hope she can use it as a career smiley - ok
