Day One of Things to do in a Small Town

Post 1

forgotten

In this busily growing world there are cities all over the place and buildings popping up everywhere. But there are still some relatively small towns. And in those small towns there are people who get bored (especially teen-agers) from not having anywhere to go or anything to do in their town. For the next few days I'll be making some observations to see what some of those people find to do.
I have found that there are three possible solutions for being bored in a small town. So you could either
a. move to a bigger town,
b. wait a few years for your town to grow, or
c. find a way to dill with it.
Of course solution b will now cure your boredom anytime soon.
But the main thing to remember is not to go insane from boredom. As some people might say, if you're bored, don't rub it in.

Many reasons why I'm glad I don't live in a small town.

You know what? I live in a relatively small town in Northern British Coloumbia (Canada) and it only has a population of about 3500 people. The teenagers here are always complaining about how they have nothing to do. But that is sooooo wrong. We have one of the top 10 ski hills in B.C. only an hour away. We have a couple of lakes all around us. There are tons of areas to go 4x4ing. There are campgrounds. We have a movie theatre, a swimming pool, a skating rink and rec. center. We have a paintball place right out side of town. There are plenty of mountains to climb (I'm actually going to go up one really soon. Going to get in some kickass snowboarding smiley - smiley) There is so much wildlife and nature around. We have a couple of golf courses, and local baseball leagues. There are great tracks for going dirt biking and quading. During the winter you could go out snomobiling, cross-country sking, skiing, snowboarding, have snowball wars, go tobagoning, and so much more stuff. We have lots to do in our little town (which is called Chetwynd by the way) which you can't really do in a big city, take Vancouver for example. I bet that half of the teen-ager population has never seen a deer or moose upclose. They have never gone quading or camping (real camping, none of this sissy motor home crap). Yah, maybe they have malls and stuff, but really, how much fun can you have sitting around by the same stores day in and day out. Don't get me wrong, I have actually lived in some big city's so I have a relative understanding of what i'm saying. But anyways, my main point was that there are ton's of things to do in smaller towns. With that I shall be off, Ciao!

Wow.
I don't know how many people live here. Our town is growing. For some reason we're getting a lot of fast food places, when what we really need is some more good restaurants.
We have a small theater, only shows three movies at a time, a bowling alley I haven't been to in forever. I think we have a public pool somewhere. I need to look around to find other places. I've seen teens hanging out in parking lots at night. That's where they go for some reason.

Hehe. A bunch of teens hanging out in a praking lot. I really have no idea why they hang out there. Like we have lots of teens who just cruise around and walk around town. But hey, it's still fun going and chilling with your friends. Our theater only has 1 screen smiley - sadface and we have a couple fast food places, no good restaurants though. We used to have a pool hall, but it closed down.
