Hey, dragons are cool. But what sort? Western Dragons? Or Oriental Dragons?

Purple Dragon Posted Oct 9, 2000
I don't know I never really thought about it but probably western dragon. The ones from fairy tales ect.

Oriental dragons are very special. They seem to be very eligant and beautiful - I don't think they would be purple though - more orange or red

Gold. Or green. Or sliver. Sweet.
But the question is, do they have antlers or horns?
I have had hours of frenzied disscussion about this and I need an expert's opinion.

Purple Dragon Posted Oct 12, 2000
I wouldn't have said they have either antlers or horns.
I'm sorry but I'm not a great expert - I love dragons, I think they are great and powerful creatures but I'm no expert.

Ah. Pity.
Do you know where the idea of dragons arrived from?
Sulphurous explosions in bogs during the night.

Okay they are more likely to have had horns than antlers - I have a beautiful picture of a purple dragon one of my friends sent me which I am using as a background for my computer screen. I have never talked to UH so I'll have to believe you on that one. I used to leave messages in another message center for dragons but found the conversation a little more thought out and serious than I'm used to and as my opinions and comments were very out of place so I soon left but some peoples opinions on dragons are very interesting and always like to hear from anyone else who is interested in dragons.

PS. Sorry about the double posting. I like dragons a lot...I think it's a pity that (European ones) are traditionally evil (and kind of crap for that matter; always getting beaten by some lame knight); luckily some more imaginative people have changed that rather...

They don't have horns. They have vestigal antler-horns. And we are not restarting htis old chestnut gigus

Look: whateverrr!
It all depends on a whole bunch of things. However, they tend to look and be more like horns than antlers. Besides, horns are inherantly cooler than antlers. And that, ultimately, is what decides it. So there. Now shut up Heavy, if you don't want to start it again (and lose again...heh heh)

Okay I still say they don't have either horns or Antlers. Anyway - I love dragons, all kinds of dragons. They are mystical, magical and wonderful creatures whatever they look like.

Giguschild - Xenomorph(Muse of Honourable Death...and Mu.) Posted Oct 15, 2000
Yeah the horns thing only applies to oriental dragons

I dont want to ruin your mental image with the fallout of a previous argument, BUT, I won. We asked some Chinese people remember - and they said, vestigal antlers
:-p

No, the opinions differed. NOW SHUT UP! If you post any more about it, I won't reply. You lost.
To PD: He's very insecure about losing. Just ignore him.

Oh whatever. Fine, you are welcome to delude yourself. It will only lead to reccurent and destructive mental problems when you become an overstressed and underpaid middle-aged businessman...

Okay well I don't really have a lot of say in this as I don't know a lot about Oriental Dragons and also have not read your previous argument so as well as not wanting to I can't say who won your last disscussion. But if your arguments made as little sense or point as this one I would say neither.
Have you ever seen a dragon? Can you show me one? Can you prove they have horns/antlers or that they don't have ears like Dumbo?
I think more about the feelings associated with dragons more than the actually appearance. Their firey spirit and wonderful freedom.
