Fragilis,
I am in the process of re-reading the Hitchhiker's books by DNA (in reverse order for some reason) and I came across this little tidbit in _So Long and Thanks for all the Fish_, "In ancient days, before the advent of the Sorth of Bragadox, when Fragilis sang and Saxaquine of the Quenelux held saway..."
Is this where you got your nick? If so, its a great piece of trivia, and I love trivia.

Yes, that *is*where my nick came from. Rather obscure, I know...
I'm glad you noticed.
Now, does ZenMondo basically mean 'extraordinarily Zen kind of guy'?

Obscure nicks are great. One of mine, "Johnny Fusion =11811=" has a rather obscure element to it. the 11811 part comes from just a few seconds in the film _Metropolis_.

I would like to think so. I love how it has that connotation. I used to have a blurb on my homespot here about Mondo being itallian for "world" and how Mondo has slipped into the slang, especially in California, but I took it out for some reason that escapes me now. I was inspired by _The Little Zen Companion_ which has a lot of quotes labled "Zen Mondo" or a Mondo about Zen. A Mondo being "a dialogue about Buddhism or an existential problem among Masters or between Master and student".
Zen really appeals to me, but my understanding of it is that of a novice. I think using the nick leads people to thinking I am a Zen Buddhist, which I am not. I think I use Zen in a kind of Californian sort of way. I would love the image of being an extraordinarily Zen kind of Guy.

_Metropolis_ is a great flick. I don't remember that number, but perhaps if I watch it again with that in mind...
It's possibly that Americans are the only ones who get your nick right off the bat. We understand California's metaphysical leanings. The rest of the world seems to think Californians are just amusingly eccentric.

11811 is the number of the worker that Freder replaces at the machine. Its on film for just a second. The number is printed on the worker's hat.
