Well - that seems to have explored that argument in full - but tell me 'Why, when I post a jewish joke, told to me by a jew - is it 'Moderated' ? Who are these people Bush, Rummy, Ashccroft or Cheney. I love the idea of freedom but H2G2 is about as free as a dog on a lead.

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Jun 2, 2005
I have no idea but I'm assuming that a) someone Yikesed the post (They put in a complaint to the moderators) or b) it somehow contraviened the <./>HouseRules</.>, you can ask the editors for an explaination here http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/Feedback-Editorial. That's all the help I can offer you at the moment, get back to me if you're not satisfied and I'll interseed on your behalf

Who are ‘they’? That is the great quest.
'They say that....'
But the 'theys’ of h2g2 seem to be a bunch of armchair bound pedants with big names 'Lord-this', 'Gnomen I am the big I am' - who the hell (when you look at them) gave them the right to do anything but break wind. B ****R the BBC – when I asked them to carry an article about slavery in the Middle East (in 1998), I get the reply ‘not possible –too much money in arms sales involved’. Did Newsweek really get the story wrong.
The greatest thing about the HHGTTG was the humour and truth. It seems to be getting lost.
Who rules whom and if the Beeb cows to the corporate might – so be it. I reserve the right to object.
Of course – you can always switch me off! But if a Jewish joke is moderated on the basis of breaking 'house rules' you are the pathetic losers. Rummies buddies never understood jewish humour - the ability to laugh at yourself.

'They' are human I've met Natalie and Jimster and I've been to h2g2 towers, we have to abide by the BBC's rules even though we are a seperate entity, you may be able to find the niche you're looking for here at the Today programme Messageboard or on our Forum here, but do expect to get your posts yikesed if you go off like you did in your last post.

Some of the 'Others' are probably the Volunteers, the Guru's and the ACE's (of which I'm no longer one, but hey ho) they help out with technical questions and any problems people may have on the site which don't really need the Editors attention

I am very sorry and will try and be a good boy.

I was trying to make sure you knew they layout of the land, this is not a political forum although we do have political discussions we have to abide by the rules layed out by the BBC.
Hi James
james-hamid Posted Jun 4, 2005
The last thing I am is 'political'. I have never voted in an election in my life and will continue not to until there is a box that says 'I don't vote for amy of these *********.

I really don't think that any of my contributions either as entries or conversations can be accused of being remotely political. If I wanted to watch performing monkeys I would buy and train my own.

I f 56 - going on 57 is 'young' - I need to get a new dictionary. It would be nice though. An old cynic might be a hetter description.
If you go to:
http://www.archi.ma/en/
there is another 'me'. The other one sits in the corner of the pub - doing the Guardian crossword - listens and watches. Curiously - people speak English to me in Moroccan pubs.
