I agree with the world being connected in a natural way... yea! I'm not the only one that thinks that!

But, could you explain exactly what you mean? I have my idea, but I want to know yours.

I also would be a hippie if I lived in the 60's (except for the drugs and sex....)

woohoo, a message! smiley - biggrin

well what i meant was that i like the idea of all of nature, and even the man made world, being mixed up together and connected. i am not really sure what i meant their either now.smiley - erm

have you ever read the His Dark Materials trilogy? it is pretty much the same as that i think. i you haven't then it's a bit like Dirk Gently's holistics stuff, and the interconnectedness of all things.smiley - smiley

what's your idea of it?

oh and the hippie thing is mostly because i either want a minismiley - smiley of a VW surfer van smiley - rainbow as one of my cars, but also because i did hippies in history and they sound like the coolest and actually most intelligent people who were around in the 60's, what with the anti war stuff and all that. oh, and i don't do drugs.

Well, I believe in a ripple effect... like each thing we do will effect other people. Chaos theory...

Who is the trilogy by?

It's good not to be on drugs.smiley - biggrin

yeah drugs seriously screw people up.

it is by philip pullman. it is very anti religious which is also why i said that i beleive in things being connected in a natural way and not a religious way. i don't care for religions much, although i am not about to go and convert people to atheism as long as they leave me alone.

(my humblest appologies to you if you are the religious sort and i have offended you)

No, I'm not religious, but thanks for your concern about offending me. I grew up Catholic, but after A LOT of thought I have decided that I don't really know anything, so I can't really decide on a religion if I don't know anything. Believing what other people tell me is not really a good way to decide on a religion...

yeah that's what put me off it. i dunno what to say now. i am thinking of 'sorry to hear it' or 'how did your parents react' but they seem a bit stupid. my family's not really religious but i decided i was not a christian when i came to this school. it wasn't really the school, but i was changing and looking at things differently, i just realised how much of a joke it all was when i looked at it from a different point of view to the one we are supposed to look at it from.

also i have read salmon of doubt which has a lot of anti religious stuff in it and it all makes a lot more sense than that glorified pack of kindling which is the bible.

have you read salmon or any other douglas adams stuff?

I've only read the first hitchhikers book... I don't even know if the rest are in a bookstore or a library around here... I think the only reason they had the first in the bookstore is because of the movie.... but maybe the library has it...

well they're all very good. i recommend them, especially salmon because it's like a giant autobiography of Douglas Adams with lots of things he has written throughout his life. it has a Dirk Gently story in it too.

how did you find out about this site?

From a person who kind of was my friend...I thought she was weird when she would answer questions with, "42." And I would ask her why. I don't exactly remember why she said something about this site...

How did you know about the site?

it was either a book i read about Douglas Adams or i was on something else on the BBC website and i came across it then.

and by the way most people on here are weird and will answer questions like what's the meaning of life with 42. i am just trying to work out a code on my PS ans revise for my exam tomorrow so hopefully i can get it sorted quickly. lil' old me is helping. she is my ACE.
