Ack! I've just spotted a major glitch! At the start of the 'the locomotive' section it talks about the wembley exhibition, and I think it's the same one that I mention happening twice. Can you check that? I'll re-do it on the first one if I can. Need to check it first though.

If you could let me know the changes you make it would be great - I don't much fancy resubbing the entire thing...

...wing year however that it's big break came, as it was selected to be displayed at the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924, and for this it was given the name Flying Scotsman. So successful was the exhibition that she also made an appearance in 1925.

In 1924, as well as the Wembley exhibition, the locomotives of LNER were renumbered, and the renowned '4472' was given to Flying Scotsman.

On 1st May 1928...

Calm down... you have had entries go into the guide before, haven't you?

Well yes I've had one but I didn't watch it so intently because I was at school at the time. And it seemed to take longer to get to the final bit of that page. One more thing though, the last one had a picture and I didn't realise that until it was on the front page. How do I know if this one will have a picture, and can I ask that it does?

I don't know if there's any system to which entry goes in next, but it can take as little as a week.

As for the pictures - they're called blobs, and one is given to the Editor's Pick of the Day, but usually appears on the entry before it actually gets picked. I don't know how they choose them - the editors pick the ones they like - usually one out of three, though this depends on the number of entries per day on the <./>FrontPage</.> - and commision a blob for each. I don't think you can ask for a blob, though, but you can have a go at writing good prose and then sit back and hope...
