I had a consult a few days ago with the real proprietor of the Aroma Cafe, Irving Washington, who is currently on holiday. He feels I should have lightened up about the fairy dust.
I find that when I'm using something that I don't own I get a lot more worried about breaking it or misusing it than if it were my own. This is what's happening to me with being temp proprietor at the cafe. I'm worrying too much about handing the cafe back to Irv in "popular" condition, instead of having all the threads dry up on my watch.
So please be welcome upstairs with your sax and with Twink, there's still plenty of Earl Grey tea. Just don't give me more "performance art" than I can handle at once! 
That bloody smokestack sticking out of the Gents (or is it the Ladies? Doesn't seem to matter to the patrons) is another matter entirely.
