Hello, Odradek. How are things going in the world of tiny blondes with head phones stuck in their ears?
I'm a little curious about something.
Three weeks ago I wrote an entry on Led Zeppelin. I posted it on the peer review page, recieved comments, revised a hell of a lot, and the entry was finally recommended. That's all good and well except for the fact that I have absolutly no idea what stage the entry is in with the editing process. Now that I think about it, I don't even know if the sub-editors even accepted it for the edited guide. So if you could give me any information at all on how the editing process works, anything at all, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again.

Hiya, Yossarian Prefect (l love your name -- can l call you YP?)

The whole submissions process is a -lengthy- one. lt used to be even looooooonger, if you can picture that -- sometimes entries would take two, three, four or more months before they even got looked at, such was the backlog.

But now the process is much simplified, as you've seen -- yours only took three weeks!
Now. l haven't used this system yet myself, but the process has two parts: the Peer Review and the Subediting.

The Peer Review bit you've done, and you've said they've accepted your entry. This means that your entry has now been given to the Subeditors, who will run through your entry and doublecheck it for grammar, spelling, coherency and so-on. The term "subeditor" is actually a holdover from the earlier times of the Guide, and now once something's been Subedited, it becomes part of the recongnised Guide.

So, if you've got past Peer Review, your entry has now gone to the Subeditors pool. lt might take them a while to get to it, so please be patient; they have a -lot- of these to do. But once they've finished with it, and checked with you on any points of contention, you should be done and in the Guide proper. Your work is pretty well done!

lf you've further questions, l can suggest you take a look here:

This further explains the process, and if you've any further questions, you can ask Anna or any of the other Subs for more in-depth help.
Thanks for contributing to the Guide!
