Web Design (Part 1: The future)

As an artistic sort of chap who generally realizes that 2 different sorts of plaids dont match (after a cup of coffee or two, anyway), as well as a web designer who is progressively attempting to make his way into the field of interactive web design and content, I would like to take this opportunity to comment on the presentatino and content of the web.
Presently, the objective of the web is threefold, but it continues to redouble in purpose, much like a fine piece of oragami that will eventually end up as a whooping crane, or some sort of obscene rabbit. But presently, most individuals and businesses use the web to:
1. Convey information
2. Peddle goods/services
3. Look for pornography and illegal music
However, as I said, the folding continues; I believe that the internet will within my lifetime (which is anywhere from another couple of seconds to 100 or so years) become a vast medium for art. I do not believe that the transition will come easily--just picture the Mona Lisa next to pictures of Brittany Speares nude, and think about which one you'd spend more time ogling.
My point is that progressive web designers must strive to bring the internet to a higher and more functional interactive level. If nothing else, I urge you all toalway remember these words in the future:
simple = goode
A good site must be visually enticing, must be user-oriented, and must have a friendly and appealing color scheme and design, but must not be bogged down with needless animated gifs and atonal midi music.
I therefore dedicate my journal entried to the persuit of excellence in webdesign, and other fun stuff that occurs to me. Through this, I hope that I can develop my own personality and repoitoir as a designer, and make fun of people who really suck.
I thank you for your attention.
