Having read it through, I think the ending would be better left with the Freudian quote...omitting the last two lines <>

I see you've added '- The Song' to the title, which is fine with me, although my purpose of the entry was to put the emphasis on investigating whether there really was a true House of the Rising Sun, not a dissection of the song. And along those lines, the last two sentences <> helped me to close out the arguments I made for and against there being such a place.

Plus, I was looking for a way to end the entry. It seemed sort of abrupt to me to end it on Pamela Arceneaux's quote. *shrug* She's very knowledgeable on the subject, and she's probably right, but there is conceivable evidence to the contrary.

But it's definitely your call. I'm so very excited about being included in the Guide!

I added "the song" to the title because I thought that is what the entry was about, but if you think it's more about the search for the house, how about:

"House of the Rising Sun - the Search"

or, we can leave it as "House of the Rising Sun"

It's definitely *not* my call!

Although, I must tell you there is one more step to go after I've done my bit, the editors of h2g2 (the italics) will read it through after I have returned it and *may* make changes themselves.

Wow, you're really polishing it up!

My intent was to write an Entry about more than the song, to actually explore the possibility of a real House, or time and place in history, that may have inspired the lyrics.

I guess for this reason I would prefer the title to be simply "House of the Rising Sun". I think that keeps the Entry from getting pegged down to being just about the song.

...but then again, a quick glance over to your PS tells me you've done more than a few of these, and I could learn a thing or two from you. Please, I am open to opinions and suggestions.

I learned everything I know from getting involved with h2g2, so it's a pleasure to pass it on

I've been thinking about the title, and would like to suggest:

House of the Rising Sun - Did it Really [or "Ever"] Exist?

or

House of the Rising Sun - the History and the Song

or

House of the Rising Sun

Although we can discuss the entry here please remember that the final decision will lie with the Editors, and I can't edit the entry once I send it back to them
