Why not write some entries?

GN, if you want to have blocks of text & links for people to look at (say as a reference from the messageboards), then write them as a Guide entry. You can then copy and paste the URL of the entry into any post on the boards, thus getting round the nannybot's objections to non-BBC URLs.

You never know, but some of them might end up getting entered in the Guide proper (I have six and one on the way. I've listed them here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A3765792)

All the best

Well, I actually did as an accident but deleted it. I didn't think it made sense to write a guide for one particular person. Other people wouldn't know what it is about!

Besides, I didn't write anything for it so I couldn't write a guide and take credit.

Copyright is only realy a big issue if you submit the entry for review. The ones you write for yourself can contain just about anything you want, as long as it's "clean". Lots of people have entries that are really only lists of links, sorted by category. You don't have to keep the entries, either - when you're finished with it, delete it.

You may also want to consider using the journal. It's a bit bloggish, and everything you put in there gets passed on to people who have listed you as a 'friend' (as I have). The only reason I don't use my journal is because I already blog elswhere.
