A fan of The Adverts, eh? Ah, those were the days...when the songs had no tunes, the bands couldn't play their instruments and you couldn't make out the words. What are the youth of today coming to with their soothing, melodic pap ...sorry, pop?

You clearly know of Johnny Clark too. He used to live near me, and frequented the same places. I knew his wife better; he wrote "I married the monster from outer space" for her! She was unimpressed when she found out! His use of white nasal powders was controlled by poverty until he became a rock star, at which point....

Y'mean the french model and heroin addict who once attended my mate's New Year party? I didn't know she shared a flat with Johnny, but it's quite possible. They both lived in Salford at roughly the same time. We used to see Nico cycling around Lower Broughton from time to time.
The Buzzcocks lived round the corner too, on Lower Broughton Road, before they moved to London.
