You just finished too? I finished yesterday, and am currently recovering from the raging hangover it dealt me... smiley - sadface I can get you tea, coffee, coke, or hot chocolate, but *please* no alcohol...

*moans softly to self*

I've been getting into Iain M Banks recently - he's a great writer - favourite is probably "The Art of War"(?) - hugely shocking finale for that - there were images buzzing round my head for weeks...
What about you?

Oh I don't know, someone once told me alcohol was the best cure for hangovers.

ps I, too, am recovering from that affliction more commonly known as 'exams'. However I've just done my GCSEs, I still have all that A-level stress to come.

I've not heard of M Banks I will go and look him up.

talking to "small fish"... sorry!

I don't think I can recommend any "serious books" - most of what I read isn't exactly classic... smiley - sadface

"A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess - bloody marvellous. And "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. And "On the Yankee Station" by William Boyd, which has humourous sexual content... throw aside your Jane Austen!

oh, if you're including Brave New World, you ought to have 1984, too... and BladeRunner, of course - all deeply dark looks at the future.

I'm reading the Iluminatus Trilogy at the moment... it's... different... smiley - smiley Quite large, though. It is a classic, I guess.... in it's own little way smiley - smiley

I'm doing the proper thing and spending my summer reading through the canon of English Literature; Some Virginia Woolf, a bit more Huxley and D.H. Lawrence ("Lady Chatterley's Lover") for amusement value...

Otherwise, I'm reading my curry-stained copy of "Better Than Life" for the sixth time... smiley - winkeye
