h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Because I'd like to take advantage of you before you go.

Will you come back and say hello occasionally? The Guide will miss you.

I'll miss you as well, although what I saw as our friendship didn't seem to survive some of the stuff that was slung at it when I was a Researcher too, and I've always regretted that.

Of course we'll come back every now and again If only to check up on what people have been saying about our entries behind our back...

One thing I am glad about was that at least we never got to the stage of slinging things *at each other*. I'd like to think that our friendship at least kept us from each other's throats, even if it took a battering in the process.

Anyway, I'll see you at the meet, and keep in touch, ok?

Make sure you come and tell us when you're off so that we can stand and wave hankies or something. And then get on with the job of talking about you.

Oh, there'll be no arbitrary cut off date - they don't have a "national no h2g2 day" for people who want to quit...
Maybe they should!
