I have recognised you from the Frilly Knickers Shop, and I just wanted to say hello and offer to share some cheesecake with you...
But... how can you keep track of your five... is it five!?? ... selves!??
WOW!!!

I'm not sure quite what you mean, though - how do I keep track of my selves? Umm.... that doesn't make any sense! help!

Well, at the top of your userpage, it states that you are Lucinda, and MyRedDice, someone else... and...a Xanthia!??

Lucinda, MyRedDice, Martin, myre, and Xanthia...
The detailed(ish) explanation bit is entitled "Me and My Names", and can be found at the top of this page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A446672 - that might make things a little clearer, perhaps.
Why does the name Xanthia, in particular, surprise you? I've always wondered about that name - because it's the one name that I have which I don't know where it comes from. I'm curious now!

I wasn't curious about your choice of names.... but how you keep yourself straight, dear!!!
Errrmmm... Xanthia... beautiful name... probably has something to do with Alexandria!?? I know not!!! My best friend had written a novel about a world called Xanthia... I think that was the name...

"Well, it's easy enough: I take a broomstick and shove it down my back and trousers, and then I've no choice but to keep myself straight!" -MRD
If you mean, how do I keep myself sane - well, I just do. Running with five names feels perfectly natural - I've been slowly getting here over the past three years, so it's not as if it's a sudden thing. Just like other people stay sane with an unconscious which randomly inserts thoughts into their minds, generates dreams and nightmares to perplex, and turns the rational mind to jelly every time a short skirt comes round.
If you mean something else... I dunno what you mean!
To be fair, myre is more of a fragment than a full personality in her own right, and the rest are mostly somewhat stereotyped, and in any case they aren't fully seperate people, just enough for it to be noticeable by me, and nobody else, 'less I tell 'em. So it's less 'wow' than perhaps you first thought...

Martin Harper Posted Jul 2, 2001
Nah - three years going from only having one name to having five... only about 1+1/2 years on h2g2
I think shrugging is probably the best option - it's really not something worth bothering with - life's too short!
