Hey Lucinda! Here's something that might help you in your quest! (Analysing every username in the known multiverse, that is.) 
It's a site named RhymeZone; a rhyming dictionary which also has some other cool features such as searching for synonyms, definitions, homophones (not yet implemented, it seems), similar sounding words, words with the same consonants and related words. It can also search for superstrings of the entered word.
One problem though. I tried entering "shazz" in order to look for similar sounding words, and to my surprise it replied "Sorry, shazz was not found in this dictionary". Surely, if you've gone to the length of having some sort of internal phonetic representation (which might of course be a false assumption), it shouldn't be too much trouble to just guess how the entered word is pronounced, or better yet, let the user enter some phonetic mumbojumbo and then just search for phonetically similar words!

Almost forgot. There's a workaround for said problem. Just do a search for similar spellings; you should get some similar sounding words, and then just use that for further searching.

Sorry, there ~is~ a homophone search. For example "chazz" is pronounced exactly the same as "chas" and "chaz".

Well, I haven't found the homophone bit yet, but it looks prety cool - lots of options to play around with...

Yep, it sure is fun to play with. The Shakespeare quotes search was a surprise; looks very out of place.
