Sorry I'm late for my own party! Thank you for thinking of me. I have become rather busy in Real Life. All the years of being harrassed for my "wierd" tastes are paying off and I am being asked to write articles about SF&F which are virtually unknown here in Iran. I even did an e-mail interview with Anne McCaffrey for a magazine - and she ANSWERED! (nim starts dancing around crazily)

Another year, another birthday!

Ooops - how come I missed nim's reply last year? Are you still writing, nim?

(nim hides sheepishly)

(a map shows way to the freshly baked chocolate cake in her room)

Ooo... look - a map! I wonder if it leads to a treasure?

*turns map left, right and upside down, trying to figure out which way is north*

Ah - it must be this way, surely?

*looks around*

*tries to figure out which direction north is in (always had a lousy sense of direction*

*elbows Galaxy Babe*

Wakey, wakey - which way is north?

Follow your nose! (g) Have seat, have some cake and tea.

To quote: "I'll be back!"

*sniff, sniff*

Is that smell what I think it is?

yes, it is fresh hot chocolate cake. Ever since I discovered the wonder of ready cake mix I have a problem *not* baking them which interferes with me loosing 6 required pounds.

I'm lurking around some threads seeing what's new. What is not new is my continuing disability to write anything remotely witty

I'll put on my journal what I've been doing, but right now I have to prepare for RL birthday bash in 2 days time.

I leave the cake and chinese take-out here and try to look in. Enjoy!

Ah - so you mean that this here chocolate cake isn't for your birthday? You mean I - uh, we - get to eat it all? *looks at the still asleep Galaxy Babe and decides not to make any further attempts to wake her up*

*cuts a big slice of cake*

(rushes around putting new cake, bisciuts, fresh veggies, chips, various dips and a chinese take0out menu on the table)

I have birthday at the worst possible time of the year! its new year here, most people are traveling or visiting their relatives, i never know who is going to show up, how many people will be there, how much food to prepare. one year we had 50 guests, the next just one!

(rushes back to RL)

Happy Birthday to youuuuuu!!!

*looks around at all the delicious foods, wondering where to but the food and drink she brought herself*

*gently pushes the Sleeping Beauty (Galaxy Babe) into a corner*

There - now we have an empty spot!

*puts down a crate of - a champagne that doesn't contain alcohol but will take you sky high through the added magic*

*disappears only to return with a big box of finest Belgian *

*disapperas once again, this time returning with a home made cake filled with vanilla cream and strawberry jam, covered with whipped cream and decorated with several on top*

*studies the Chinese dishes, wondering where to start*

(collapses exhaustedly)

That's over for another year. only 4 1/2 guests - falern, best friend, best friend's husband, and a new friend erm.. star. plus my "godson" - best friends son. made enough noise for 20 people. veggies and cold cuts were enough for twice our number, but BFH insisted on getting chinese. ended up making doggie bags for every one. spent some time watching smallville pilot and drooling over lex and Clark (the girls at least) it was nice. more than nice. hope we can get together again soon.

*rolls up sleeves and starts washing-up*

Any left-overs? I'm starving!

(pulls out the beef and bacon "Rolladen" with Onion souce from the fridge and starts peeling an apple to add to the cole slaw)
