Sho - employed again!

I could get used to these days off!

smiley - chef took the Gruesomes to school for the last day before the holidays, so that I could sleep in. As it was I got up right after he came back, so we had tea together and watched breakfast tv - I haven't done that for years.

Then I just pottered around, after he went off to work. Got my skirt cut out, and over the course of the day have started to sew it. There is plenty of material left to make a peasant skirt each for the Gruesome, hopefully I can get those done before they troll off to England on Monday. So that will be a skirt each for around €25 (plus time & electricity). smiley - cool

Collected them from school, and since it was sunny we stopped at the supermarket for some veggies, came home and made loads of salads for late lunch:

- carrot & orange salad (the best salad in the universe)
- red bean and apple (yum)
- potato salad (with home made mayonnaise of course)
- tossed green salad (with nice dressing)

They just wolf this stuff down, which is great.

Then I trolled around some more, watched a bit of TV with smiley - chef on his break, then some more sewing while he took #2 off to her ballet lesson. #1 went too, so it's nice and quiet.

And in about 15 minutes I'll collect them, then take them off to see an ABBA tribute band (I think) at the local hall. It's called Dancing Queen, and apparently comes from London. Apart from that I have no idea what to expect. But since the Gruesomes both love ABBA (! along with Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Neil Young) I'm sure they'll have fun.

And I still have a weekend to look forward to.

Bliss.

Sounds like a wonderful couple of days

Alex wants to go and see Ice Age 2, which is great 'cos me and Excelsior want to see it too and we have the perfect excuse for a night out at the cinema

I hope you all enjoy it! smiley - chef is taking the Gruesomes and my mum next week, and I'll go and see it (in German) with some workmates.

Eventually I guess we'll have it on DVD so I can see it in English

As for the ABBA thing - it was a tribute band from London, they were hilarious (and the blonde one was ... tubby... which was smiley - laugh). they pretended they were ABBA and spoke with Swedish accents (not sure if the rest of the audience picked up on that) but it was a great show and the Gruesomes loved it (even though #1 was so tired she had to stop dancing.)

We even managed to get seats where we could see - it was in a sports hall and we were on the raised step seating at the back - which was fab for he Gruesomes. Almost from the first song everyone was on their feet dancing - and the people around us were amazed at my girls knowing all the words!

We'd had a discussion about going to gigs with me and smiley - chef (who have been to gazillions) saying it's the best thing in the world, and the Gruesomes saying "yeah, but you can listen to a CD whenever you like" smiley - yikes - not _my_ daughters!

But about 5 minutes into the show they said they agreed with us.

Next stop will be somethng like Peter Gabriel - now I know they are coverted to live music!

I'm glad they enjoyed it, Alex is into girlie Pop and the like and no amount of Oldie radio and CD's in the car will change her mind smiley - wah
