Hello S,
agree totally,
haven't lived in England for a log time (25+ years) and I really dislike this infatuation that many folk have with celebrity. Is it media driven, or are folk so bored with their own lives that reading about the minute details of 'famous' people is the opium that gives their brains the only 'stimulous' they have.
Sad, isn't it?

is it similar where you live?
I haven't lived in the uk for even longer than you () but where I live now they are also horribly obsessed with celebrity AND royalty (and there isn't a king or queen here so it's every tiny little prince, princess, count etc etc all over the gossip mags)

Hello oh fellow poster,
I live in the Middle East: 4 nights in Dhahran,Saudi Arabia, 3 nights in Manama, Bahrain (where I am now every week) does that help?

Like some other European countries, they've never really gotten over the fact they haven't got a royal family to coo and fawn over so celebrity adoration goes someway to fill that vacuum I guess.
