Phred Firecloud Posted Jul 1, 2009
Hello Christiane,
I haven't actually "Elivised" from h2g2 (left the building), but I have become much more inactive.
Sometimes, in our travels, we are in the "woods" where we have no access to the internet for days at a time. We are currently eight time zones away from England and heading for the Lassen Volcanic National Park and Redwood National Park in California.
I really enjoy posting mostly on my own blog, where I can show my pictures and not worry about being "yikesed" for some stupidity that I inadvertently commit.
As you know it is not against the house rules to post an E-mail address. I would really enjoy keeping in touch with you that way.
If you wish, my E-mail is [email protected] so let me know how you are doing there.
I post every day on my blog http://thefirecloudreport.blogspot.com/
so if you want to follow our travels and post some comments, make that a favorite place and I'll see you there.
Our Best wishes,
Phred and Mrs Phred

Oh Phred,
That was wonderful, marvellous, thrilling time I have just spent reading your travels. I could not find a place where to put my comments. however, when I got to Yosemite I had to go on. !!
Dick and I spent a weekend in Yosemite, with a view of the huge rock, I cannot remember the name of it, in 1973 i think it was. We absolutely loved it. but boy I do not know if I could cope with all the people that you have everywhere you go.
But what a wonderful life. You are certainly making the most of your retirement and you have a marvellous helpmeet and soulmeet in Mrs, Phred.
I shall look at your posting now every day, and if you tell me where to comment I shall do so.
With great admiration and affection to you both.
What a wonderful retirement you are experiencing.
Christiane

Christiane,
At the bottom of each blog, the very last thing is the word "Comments".
When you click on that word with your mouse, a new window opens that allows you to make a comment.
Unfortunately, I was getting "spammed" with virus links by automated computer programs, so, to protect my readers, I had to activate a feature that requires you to type in a short number of characters to prove your humanity,
I'm sorry for that inconvenience.
Regards,
Phred

Maybe the big rock was "Half-Dome"?....Ansel Adams seemed to enjoy taking pictures of it.

Half dome - Of course it was dear Phred.
Very very impressive. Did I say we were there in winter. the next morning it had snowed and I saw chipmunks for the first time. Yours have got stripes on them like the badgers in England have. But in a different part of their body. very interesting.
My memory is really letting me down rapidly.
What a wonderful trip you are making. I look forward to finishing reading your June journal and writing some comments tomorrow morning, DV, !!
Warm regards to you two,. and too the most beautiful Park in the world - Yosemite. At last somewhere where I have been to as well. !!

Very dear amy,
are y9u that close to Yosemite? My knowledge of the geography of the USA is virtually nil. I might say it is of england as well. I have no idea where the counties are!.. I know that Cornwall is south and Scotland is north and wales is where on the right side and I live on the other side. !!
Honestly when will I learn. Anway, when you are not ing it woudl be good to have news of the girls.
With affection to the whole family

It's a long day's drive, though I read somewhere, after following links a few hours ago, that the Fireclouds will be in Trinidad ( the town in California, not the one often followed with "and Tobago") for the 4th of July, and *that* is less than 2 hours away.
*wonders if it's odd for a paper person to be eager to meet a cloud of fire*

Hi Amy,
Thanks for the phone number. I may call sometime in about a week to pick your brain about the area (and salmon runs).

It would probably be easier if I'd mentioned it somewhere you read... Tom and I are running a fireworks booth this year

i do not really understand about tj=he booth. Where did I always read about your news and knew what was happeneing to the family. How have I lost you? I thought that I always knew what was going on with the Pawlowskis!! somehow I HAVE "LOST YOU"
I really have more memory loss than I think.
I believe the sad thing about this "temporal memory loss" which I have experienced is the fact that one eventually does not know who one is. That is going to be really scary. It has happened to me once and it was horrid. !! Perhaps it has happened to me more than once. Ah well.
with much affection
