I'm interested in your assertation that you have plenty of examples to back up michaeldetroit's claims.
I'd like to invite you to the PROD think-tank thread F76045?thread=623386. I'm also interested in your examples. If you'd be so kind, I'd love to read them if you email them to jodantaylor at gmail dot com.
By the way, keep writing for the Edited Guide. You've really written some excellent stuff that should be an example for all EG authors of how to write interesting entries.

By and large, I'm not aware of who is a scout and who is not in the peer review arena. My short experience has been that people are overwhelmingly kind and very helpful, regardless of their roles.
However, I began to see somewhat of a pattern of short, blunt, somewhat sarcastic responses toward very inappropriate entries made by people who had only been on the site a day or two, usually younger folks, who were obviously lost somewhere in cyberspace.
I started to linger, rather than unsubscribe, to see what curmudgeonly badger (no reflection on the h2g2 virtual badger person) type would come along to chase then off.
Some reviewers, like the Woodenbird of Dublin, are exceedingly kind and helpful to these lost souls. Others appear to have completely lost patience.
I need to think more about your offer on the e-mail. I'm not inclined to do that. I think the PROD discussions are very helpful and I've become somewhat addicted to parts of H2G2 since I found it three months ago. Wish I could pay my BBC taxes.
