Hi Bob,

MH Smith, IE Consterdine and PM Park, “Atmospheric loadings of marine aerosol during a Hebridean cyclone”, 1989, Quarterly J. R. Meteorol. Soc., 115, 383-395

Not 'officially' recognised as a hurricane by the UK Met. Office but the postman that was dumped into Loch Bee thought otherwise as did many of the folk on South Uist that morning... ed.

I had an occasion to experience A3831185 vertical wind sheer forces at 2,000 to 22,000 feet in the Pacific. The rain bands have huge updrafts anf between the bands are tremendous downdrafts.

Inner Hebrides - islands between the Outer Hebrides and the western coast of Scotland
Outer Hebrides - a 130-mile long archipelago northwest of Scotland
archipelago - a group of many islands in a large body of water

Never mind....$21.48 for a reprint! Would qualify as a typhoon or hurricane in the right location. Cyclone in those latitude?

Abstract:
During a marine aerosol field trial at a coastal site in the Outer Hebrides, a depression formed in the North Atlantic, and moved directly over the site. Wind speeds on site gusted past 100 m.p.h., and some data were gathered at very high wind speeds

Bubbles that break on the surface of a body of salty water eject three main types of drop: film, jet and spray. These equilibrate in the atmosphere (growing if the relative humidity is >80%, shrinking otherwise) and span a size range (droplet radius) from nano- to millimetres. MH Smith noted that if the size distribution is modelled logarithmically then there should be the odd house flying about the place occasionally...

Marine Aerosol is a catch-all phrase for the stuff that leaves the ocean to remain as a solid in the air after the fluid is agitated.

You don't need to scan one in. I bet I can find an online copy.

Or, maybe I'll send my postal address to your e-mail address posted on the newolder site....the thing is ed, I'm going travelling in a couple of weeks for several months, and I'm trying to figure out how to reduce or reroute the the traffic flow to my reality based mail-box....don't want to post it here...never know about lurkers and identity stealers. I need my identity.

Thanks.

Theoretically, yes. Amount of non-delusional evidence for their existence, none = 0 = e^(i pi) + 1 (Fourier).

Must get the hang of this ML soon... ed. (Frownie, please).

You can't use GuideML in conversational posts or journal entries. You can use it to edit your personal space or in Guide Entries.

The easiest way to start using basic GuideML, where it can be used is to click EDIT, than switch to a Brunel skin and change from text to GuideML. You will then see and edit box with a number of GuideML icons (paragraph, footnote, block quotes, superscript, table ect.

Oddball things like Pi you have to add manually.

I wondered if you believed in spartners the first time you mentioned non-delusional evidence. Thank for clearing that up

Frownie in a conversation can be written smiley - sadface. Do a search on "Smileys".

Sorry < sadface > without spaces after "greater than" and before "less than" equals smiley - sadface
