Hello, and welcome to h2g2. DON'T PANIC! Why not pop over to the newcomers welcome area, at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=617&thread=51917 and introduce yourself. Anything you want to know, just ask away!

Thank you very much! I try to find out how the h2g2 world works. It looks very coloured everywhere.

Oh yes. Life (as well as language, sometimes!) is very colourful at h2g2. In fact, sometimes it's so colourful that it becomes a health hazard unless you're wearing shades!

Heyy... there's nothing wrong with a bit of colour... ~grin~...

Hi,
I had a look to the "newcomers welcome" page and I can say that I feel more informed, comfortable and confused now. But - hey - it feels good! Here is my first question: Do people usually exchange their URL here or do they only use the h2g2 homepage?

It's entirely up to you. Some people like other people to know about their life outside h2g2, other don't. But as a general rule, people don't give out their 'real life' info - such as addresses, the same as anywhere else on the web.
Thanks
Farmer Posted May 20, 2000
Dear St. Justin, thank your very much for that information. I agree that this will be much more interesting if one has no information about the life "outside". It helps to concentrate on the things "inside". The next question ist: How did you find out so quickly that I posted my "homepage"? (If I had known that somebody would read it at once I probably tried to post a more elaborate thing...)

Thanks

If you go to my homepage, about half way down there's a link 'who's online'. It's a bit of code that brings up a new window, with the names of all the researchers who are currently logged on. Then it's just a click away...
If you want to put it on your page, the code can be found here: http://www.h2g2.com/A178157
