G'day Jim and I should of known you'd be lurking in the Shadows Logi.
Mobiles...yeah they can be a pain in arse especially when your stuck next to someone who insists on speaking at the top of their voice and letting everyone know their conversation. I have one and it's a neccesary evil as I'm self employed and it's the main source of all my work.
That'd be a bit expensive wouldn't it Logi: Connecting on the web via mobile? I've always avoided all the offers to do so.

-
as ive no internet, i usually go on a lurk when im fedup of the rubbish on tv lol
-
you probably know we have big brother here, it started tonight, its for 93 days, 16 gone in, but for the life of me, why one is blind, you read right, blind, as the mind boggling lol.
-
i dont think im watch over 3 months of it lol.ide rather watch repeats, of what we have loads on all the channels.
-
i was suprised when the weather thread took off, as it was dead for ages, just thought, what the heck, it works, or fades lol

Connecting on the web via mobile?<<<<<<<<using mobile as a modem for computer, £5:00, (8 au $) for a week...so not that bad pay as you go..
so not that bad...(less than bottle of beer)or a litre of cows juice..
hi keith
Jimcracker7[magiclink.rip gone altogether. im back.in my home from home. Posted Jun 5, 2008
im not going into the ins and outs of the moble, there are good and bad things connect to them.
-
its not what they can do, but what some use and abuse them for.
-
in the 80,s i had the cb radio, a very good, cheap, thing, talked to all the countries, then the kids got on, with cheap nasty units, and it was abused.
-
there is always someone that as to use something good for something its not for as such.
-
to end the subject.
-
three things, the music on buses you dont want to here, the women that use the mobile to let a kid play the ringtones to keep it quiet, while other have to suffer it, and the one that shout when they take or make a call, so the whole world can here. jim

Hi all just want to say I'm on a mac a bit old but up to the latest nr I do have an American keyboard now Japanese ones are impossible to understand, listening to R2 as usual day time , most of it was a gift and as from yesterday I was given a digital camera but, my eyes let me down a bit outside, (can't see the pic I'm taking ) I don't have a mobile n don't want one , my wife has one and always shouts into it .
Going down the road in a minute to meet my wife coming back from primary school (she's teaching English 2 mornings a week ) and I want to try to get pic's of the Carp in the river , also got to collect the rice seedlings in less than 2 hrs ,try to get some pic's of that too so should get off of here

Not sure of the abbreviations you use Anold. Is R2, radio two as in BBC and what's "nr", new release?
I actually like my mobile, I'll give you some reasons why:
1. I fish by myself one to two days a week and I use a 4wd to access the beach and I spend the days and nights driving up an down looking for the next best spot and it is not visited by that many people. If I have a breakdown or am injured in someway as I do a bit of clambering around the rocks with two bung knees, well the mobile is a godsend.
2.Anold my phone takes 35 minutes of video and untold amounts of photos as well, I can add a running commentary attached to the photo's and I send them around the country to various people and around the world(Logicus has recieved a couple of ph videos of mine as I have of his(where's my next one L?) ) who I know are stuck at work while I'm lolling about in the sub-tropics
3. Like I said above I need it for my work for ordering materials or chasing up subbies(sub-contractors) or ringing home and asking for to be put on ice for my eventual return.
4. Kids can ring and ask for money to be put into their accounts and of course they can ring me 24/7 nearly anywhere from anywhere if they are in any kind of trouble (already this has happened once).
5.Once you get your head around the technology, they are a really useful item with their reminders of birthdays, wedding anniversaries, jobs to do, dates to remember etc. All this is just the tip of the iceberg of course, my children are scary when it comes to what they do!
May not make you a convert but for this old bloke they've been a boon.

Hi Keith Yes I like to listen to BBC radio 2 I think the programs on now next Sarah Kennedy then Wogan are well worth a listen to, both for music and chat, remember the radio over here is no good to me It's all in Japanese I get it off the computer and have speakers here , on the deck , in the kitchen and in my workshop .
nr latest release =My mac has the latest settings, Sorry bad english* something like OS 10: 48 so it's pretty good .
*Having been away from an English speaking country for a long time and for me it's the last 30 years you really do lose a lot of your language and often find it difficult to find the words you need,
As for telephones I am not knocking anyone using mobiles or anything like that , I almost never go out , I have 3 telephones on the walls around my house and workshop I don't need a mobile and that would be an extra expense, remember young man I am semi retired ,I don't have wonky knees but I do get shoulder and upper arm aches
The camera I had given to me yesterday by my geek NZ friend got 4 free cameras from the university he teaches at, also will take movies with sound It's just a bit old 7 years actually but the price was good It's a Sony it says it has 3.2 mega pixels , just something else for me to play with
I do enjoy hearing from you Keith just wish we exchanged E Mails so I could see you working anyway should get on and try to download todays pictures

Well here's my address and I'm none to worried about who sees it either lematthend at ya h oodot comdotau. Now can you work that out Anold?
Very nice to be referred to as "young man" too, not only are you semi retired but you must also be very very old.
I'll call you Anold sama I think
I think my ph has nearly as many pixels!
Well it's 5pm Friday evening here and I have a roaring log fire blazing away amongst the forest down in my backyard(I'm surrounded by a Nature reserve that harbours Koala bears you see) and I only came up to grab another cold beer and check in the house as everyones out at the moment and I wanted to make sure the house cleaner had got off home Ok.
Back to the fire.....

For Anold's ears only...I particularly enjoy a roast chicken and quite often will wave my fork about if anybody gets too close to the parsons nose or worse the 'Wing'.
Email is in the in box Anold Sama. Will read it later on and reply of course.
Now it's back to the fire and a rather tasty 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon(Australian of course).
